Hi! I’m Ian Fulgar, and I am the Architect of Ventures. I am motivated by metamodern architecture, real estate ventures, and future technology.
I initiate and lead branded real estate ventures nationwide. I work with landowners who want to unlock the value of their properties and investors seeking early-stage opportunities that are credible, well-governed, supported by strategic partners, and led with creativity.

Architect Ian Fulgar
Ian Fulgar has spent a decade arguing a position in public. Post-modern architecture organized itself around opposites. Metamodernism, the approach he brought into Philippine practice, holds opposites together and works through the tension until something new emerges.
He trained at the University of the Philippines and spent his early career on LEED and Greenmark mega-developments alongside Skidmore Owings & Merrill of New York, Arup, Meinhardt, Cicada, Wilson Associates, and Davis Langdon & Seah. That exposure produced a conviction about method. The traditional sequence, where each discipline completes its portion and passes it along, leaves nobody holding the whole. He founded Fulgar Architects in 2013 to work against that grain, and the practice has become known for a new line of hotels, resorts, golf estates, gaming and entertainment, high-rise, and township master planning.
The integration argument extends past his own practice. In 2015, he founded the Philippine Building Industry Guild, an incorporated community of builders, suppliers, contractors, consultants, designers, developers, brokers, and real estate professionals across the country. PhilBIG advocates for integrated practice in an industry that still works in silos, promoting partnerships, referrals, project initiations, and the kind of early connection that lets companies understand each other’s value before a project demands it. A decade of convening that community has become the ground from which he now builds consortiums, drawing the right mix of expertise around each development as its needs take shape.
The conviction has technical foundations. He writes software across front-end interfaces and server-side systems, and applies parametric modeling, building information modeling, and generative tools to design, energy analysis, and spatial simulation.
He obtained a BIM Management certification from BCA Academy Singapore in 2012 and competed that year in the Singapore Building and Construction Authority’s Skilled Builder and BIM Competition. He has taught parametric BIM at the University of the Philippines, the Technological Institute of the Philippines, and the Ministry of Development Training Center in Brunei. Building information modeling exists to dissolve the handoff between disciplines, which is the same argument metamodernism makes about design.
Artificial intelligence entered his work through software rather than through trends. He has written code for more than twelve years across interfaces and server systems, and applies parametric modeling, energy analysis, and spatial simulation as design instruments.
In 2025, he opened IF Lab AI, a Manila studio investigating artificial intelligence systems, spatial technologies, private retrieval stacks with defined guardrails, and analytical pipelines that carry feasibility data, absorption models, and market signals into investor communication. He spoke on AI, architecture, and the industry at the UP College of Architecture in 2024.
He is into art making. A 2025 solo exhibition worked architecture and music as a single problem of rhythm and structure, and he is completing a Master of Fine Arts at UP Diliman. Buildings, code, and canvas are one investigation into how arrangement produces feeling.
